Highly recommend for any horseperson

This book provides an excellent introduction to natural horsemanship. It includes step-by-step instructions on how to start a horse, as well as how to solve some of the most common training problems (ie - trailering). All this while focusing on the horse's point of view, and how to develop a 50/50 partnership with your horse. This book is a fairly easy read, and includes several "case studies".

This book is full of practical common sense advice. It embraces a non-confrontational approach to training your horse. There are lots of great photos to look at which highlight his teaching. My only complaint would be that I'd like to see a little more detail and perhaps some exercises to follow.

Best of a bad crop

As an oceanography professor I have used this book in the past and unfortunately use it to this day (at least until I develop my own lab book) and it is honestly the best of a bad crop of oceanography lab books. Of all the lab manuals I have looked at, they fall into two categories: too simple or too complex. This one falls into the latter category. Fortunately, there are enough labs that if you skip some labs and a few specific questions I would consider this manual "usable", not great not even good but "usable". If your professor requires this book, get it and photocopy the relevant pages to turn in and then sell the book as complete. You'll get more money back.

Urrgghhhh!!! Do not take the Oceanography Lab online if you don't have to...

This book frustrated my online college Oceanography Lab course experience. Made originally in 1977 and last print from 2001, I felt like the labs were not made to be intuitive for the modern student and online learning environment. There needs to be plenty of supplemental help from the teacher which made my online experience HORRIBLE!!!

To clarify, the content was very clear and concise between the chapters. However, the assignments seemed complex for non-science majors with little or no experience in the Oceanography field. For instance, the very first lab included mapping ocean floor depth charts. Very simple in theory and I understood the language and terminology, but the first chart that we graphed was an official ocean chart from NOAA with literally hundreds of numbers in a complex sequence. Could you imagine taking one 30 minute lesson in baseball and then being thrown in the Majors? A more modern lab built for independent studies might have started with a small lake to better illustrate and confirm the concepts before such an undertaking would be expected. This is why I feel that live teacher support is needed to bridge the gap for this lab manual.

I was not the only one that had trouble with the course online and our teacher confessed the school may not offer this particular lab online again until better material is available.

This is a laboratory book that I purchased along with an intro to oceanography book, though my professor forced us to purchase this lab book it was in vane since the professor gave us handouts of every single lab that we did. I NEVER used this lab book and it was a waste of money to purchase since the resell value was very low, especially for the lab book being untouched. I received about 20% of the total that I had originally spent on this lab book though it is brand new. I do recommend speaking to your professor prior to purchasing this lab book, if they are going to give you the lab exercises as handouts, do not bother purchasing this text. You will save yourself about $100 and regret when you find out you will never even need to open this lab book.

I love this book

I love this book! My grandma has a different edition of it somewhere, but the hardcover is great to have. The dresses are detailed and lovely and suits everywhere from servants to royalty and from the late 1700s to the early 1900s. Theres also instructions for different ways of making your own dolls from kits, sculpting them entirely, or making them in cloth. The little scenes to display the outfits are very cute.

This book is packed full of info. While I initially was only interested in female clothes from a certain time period, this book includes men, servants and children. It has valuable info on "how to" that even an experienced seamstess will find helpful when dressing 1/12 dolls. While the book bypasses "dressing and undressing" type clothes - and uses "glue on" clothes, one is able to modify the patterns and techniques with just a little thought and effort. The pictures are to die for. My daughter and I love to flip through it.

Good Review of Methodist Thought & History in the UK

This book is part of a four-book series which reviews UK Methodism from the time of John & Charles Wesley until the end of the 20th century. Of all the books in the series, this one is probably the best general review. It includes short personal and theological "biographies" of John and Charles Wesley, their mission to America and their return to the UK. It also covers the religious and social aspects that caused the Methodists to split from the Anglican church and then takes the history of the Methodist church forward into the end of the 20th century. The main aspects of "Methodist theology" are also covered in this book although separate books cover Methodist Theology, Methodist Spirituality and Twentieth Century Methodism in the UK. These books are an easy read for educated church-goers and don't require any special theological knowledge.
Note that none of this series addresses the development of Methodism in America.
